Personal development can be very addicting. I have read, read, read, read, read and read books but nothing beats taking action. Taking action is the best solution to beat self-limiting beliefs. Do something new every week until you feel confident enough to make that side gig grow and show up as the entrepreneur you truly are. Taking action will give you the confidence to follow your dreams. How many years have you been thinking about doing something you love? How many more years are you going to wait until the right time will show up? Are you willing to wait until the V-shaped geese are flying right above you to give you a sign and then give yourself permission to do the work? Your soul is talking to you every day, it whispers that the soul's needs have not been met. So what do you do? You fill yourself up with stuff because you feel so unfulfilled and tragic. You look for external gratification. You buy the stuff you don't need. You will have another glass of wine each week. You will stuff yourself with food. The way out is to start taking small action steps. Go to a different coffee shop, rent an Airbnb by the water by yourself, connect with an old friend, take yourself out for an amazing dinner, make yourself feel beautiful with a new hair cut or buy some trendy clothes, go for another walk, step up your cardio, do sit-ups while watching GOT, or make a plan where you take courageous action and then treat yourself to something special.
Yes, 5-second rule totally works but you have to continue using the rule until you do it on autopilot. Just trying it out for two weeks is not going to cut it, you have to follow through on your goals. You are following through on all important tasks at work so why can you not treat yourself with the same respect? It is time, start taking baby steps and take one day at the time but do something.
