Having set goals in life is important, then you can track where you are going and what you are not doing. Having the discipline to follow your goals requires a lot of will power so I recommend building a routine instead of thinking about your goals. I signed up to go to the gym but I never created a set schedule and I randomly went which did not create a flow to go on a daily basis or even twice a week :O. Now when the weather has been so amazing I have been power walking every day and that has built into a routine where I walk after work. You probably have a routine that you are following every day like making coffee, taking a shower in the morning, taking your dog out for a walk. You can do that in your sleep so you will be able to set another routine, you just have to stick to it long enough. I tried early mornings but did not work however I can see my new routine translating into wanting to get up early and maybe head towards the gym. My mindset has changed as I incorporated the new activity. I believe that when we are active other parts in the brain will open up to support being more active which is a great side effect! I can see myself going to the gym in the morning now as I am power walking at least four times a week. I want to continue to better myself. Start small and don't be hard on yourself if you miss a day, try again tomorrow.
