New things excite the senses until it doesn't anymore. Pretty smart lol but what I mean is that most things become a novelty after a while and that is when you really have to step up your game to keep it alive, whatever that means for you. Shopping online, waiting in anticipation for the package to arrive, it's here and you lose interest as soon as you open your package as you got what you wanted and instant gratification rears its ugly head again. You want more as that package could not satisfy your hunger in this instant world. That is when you have to put your ego in check and tell it to 'shut up'. You have enough and you are enough!
We have a saying in Sweden, 'sucking on the caramel' which means savor the taste, give it some time to really taste it and keep the sweetness alive or rather keep the idea alive for a while longer as you take the time to enjoy it. Let's be happy for the package more than just for a day, keep it new and refreshing for a month or longer, which means you have to put in some effort to keep it alive. Once I get what I want, I want something more and on and on it goes. Savoring the idea of the desired outcome is generally more satisfying than the outcome itself.
