Picked this card from the Enlightenment deck today. Twice. I did not like the card from the beginning but I picked it twice so it has to have some meaning.
'Joining heals separation — and there is no problem which does not have separation as one of its core dynamics. It is only in contact that you are successful, whereas withdrawal leads to a lack of success, which means some grievance or pain (hidden or otherwise) has backed you away from life. The extent to which you are backed away is the extent to which you are in sacrifice — giving without receiving. Joining brings you out of withdrawal, lack of success, guilt, unworthiness, fear and pain, so you can once again establish contact with the world.'
'In the reconnection, which is an act of love which extents you, you will realize the connection was the truth. In truth, this connection was never lost or could it be. It is only our unawareness of Oneness which keeps us in pain. In every act of commitment, giving, integrating, forgiving, receiving, trust, and so on, we create a joining, and heal ourselves. Joining establishes a mutuality which brings about the next step. It avoids power struggle and finds the solution. It releases you from the prison where you have been stuck. By your mutual support with another, partnership and success are assured.'
'Using the card
If you receive this card, you are asked to make ending the separation a priority and join the other person in the situation. Make them more important than your grievances and hidden guilt, your judgment and hidden sense of failure, your fear and your pain — all of which cover the distance between you and that person. Call them, write to them, visit them, or, if that is not possible, imagine yourself walking the metaphoric distance between you and them until you join. Each step toward them is actually a step out of inner defeat and into a place of partnership and winning together. Joining lets you know that you are truly not alone, and that there is always one solution – no matter what the problem.'
