One thing that really stood out when I visited my family and friends in Sweden last year was how much we use our window sills in our homes. I don't see any window sills in Canada in the way we have them back home in Sweden and I miss putting plants and lamps in the windows. I remember when I took the bus up to my father's place in Sandviken and as we passed Gavle I could see how cozy the homes were and how they all had a lamp and flowers in their windows. The light from the lamps and not seeing any blinds covering up the windows really created a nice ambiance from the outside. I thought for myself that this is something I really miss seeing living in Canada, and it seems to be a Scandinavian design. I want to build window sills for my windows in the dining and living room so I can decorate them with flowers, candles, and a lamp. I still want to be able to put down my blinds as they keep my place cool during the summer.
Watched this documentary last night. Really good, check it out.
Do not be afraid to fully and wholeheartedly fall in love. I have been cheated on by men in the past but I have to remind myself to keep my heart open and to fully feel the love and give myself permission to love again... Love is the main source of happiness and we have all walked the path of broken hearts. Falling apart is part of life. Mantra: my heart is open to receive (I have a hard time to receive sometimes) my heart is open to receive, my heart is open to receive and my heart is full to give as well. I am love, I am loveable and I am loving. <3 <3
And talking about lovely things, I love being creative and here is another 'painting'. Looks better when the sun is shining on it, it is gold, white and dark brown acrylic paint.
'Lagom (pronounced [²lɑːɡɔm]) is a Swedish word meaning "just the right amount". The Lexin Swedish-English dictionary defines lagom as "enough, sufficient, adequate, just right". Lagom is also widely translated as "in moderation", "in balance", "perfect-simple", and "suitable" (in matter of amounts).'-Wikipedia.
Most Swedes have a lagom temperament and personality, we don't like too much drama and we live a lagom life! All of which I did not like when I was young. I wanted to spread my wings, I wanted to fly and I wanted to explore life and I was not able to do that living a lagom life. So I moved country and started a new life in Canada where I could totally spread my wings like an eagle and I loved it! I studied psychology, self-help books and worked on my insecurities, I was growing leaps and bounds and I paid it forward by going to high schools as a motivational speaker. I became a professional model and did some acting, opened my own business and completed a bachelor degree and I loved my life. I do not think this could have happened by living a lagom life in my late 20' to the 40's. But I can totally embrace a lagom life later in life, that is for sure. Doing what I want to do, being creative, kayaking and paddle boarding on the lake, reading on the deck and having the sun kissing my face and body, having more friends over, going for trips etc. It sounds busy but I would do all of this in a lagom time frame when the time comes and not being in a hurry or having to put another idea on my list that may or may not come true-which can be stressful in itself. Lagom is on trend and I think you can live a lagom life after you have had an adventurous life that you can look back at with a smile. No, after some thought I think you can live a lagom life for the rest of your life, you make the decision on what fits and what is right for you <3 <3.
So I bought myself a Causebox, it is one of those boxes you buy for yourself as a treat. I mainly wanted to try it out because I thought the Megan Portfolio Clutch would be big enough for my MacBook Air. It wasn't big enough :( but I will use it anyway. Most of the content I could live without but it was nice to open and finding stuff I would not have necessarily picked for myself. I can always give some of the gifts away to my friends and family so they will not go to waste. However, I loved the mist on my face during the day, so refreshing.
Well, that was a treat! I resonate with both cards as they talk about renewed hope and faith. Worked hard to get where I am today which in turn gives me the ability to be generous to others so I can pay love and happiness forward easily. Anything is possible and magic is flowing around me (yeah!). My heart is full of hope, and my soul is being uplifted to the highest of highs as I realize that my dreams can come true. Allowing myself to dream and reap what I have sowed and to reach for the stars as they are there waiting for me. What cards did you pick?
After finishing a painting I went to Westwood lake for a power walk. It was kind of busy, people were paddle boarding, fishing and of course running. I needed to shake off some energy and negative thoughts. I often think about Taylor Swift song "Shake if Off" when I shake my arms while walking. Totally works every time. #peaceofmind.
Flew with Helijet to Vancouver to see Michelle Obama last week. Helijet was a treat, so professional and we got complimentary wine before take off. I can totally recommend them and let's support them so they will continue to do business in Nanaimo! I live in paradise and flying in a helicopter just emphasized it's beauty.
Loved watching and listening to Michelle Obama and Robin Roberts at Roger's Arena. It was almost full! Everyone was so pumped to see her and it felt like I was going to watch a hockey game. Lots of women and some men, the women were dressed up and looked great. Michelle Obama did not disappoint, what a natural and confident speaker she is, I totally get why she is going on a tour as she was born to speak to an audience. She did not miss a beat and never looked at the cue cards and her message was great. Lot's of pointers on how to bring up children and make them resilient in today's society.
If you haven't done Meyers' Briggs test with your family and friends maybe it is time to do that. Here is a very short test and link to find out your letters: https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test
If you want a more in-depth test you can do that too but I think you have to pay for it. I have done so many career assessments with people and observed how the clients gained confidence when they figured out their strengths and weaknesses and what they need to work on and let go of. Working on your personal and professional blind spots will increase your self-awareness. Self-awareness is power my friends and finding out if you are an introvert or extravert will explain many, many situations where you felt you belonged or felt awkward. I also coach people on how to deal with social situations where we build confidence by feedback and finding the person's blind spots. Do not suffer another day thinking you are different and do not belong anywhere, ask for help to find your voice and your place in the world. Reading more about your Meyers Briggs personality can help to figure yourself out and to find those 'aha' moments which could explain why you act and behave in certain ways.
I love hanging out with my ENFP's buddies and we have a great time when we go out. Just the other day an ENFP friend and I went to the local brewery and had a couple of beers. We had a great time laughing, not having a care in the world and we know how to have a good time because we can push each other's 'excitement' buttons really fast. Meanwhile, we were laughing and not really caring if people were looking, two guys approached and asked if we wanted to play pool with them. They wanted some of our energy because one of the guys said it is so nice seeing people having a good time and laughing. We declined but then they came back a few more times to steal our vibes lol (not really) and one of the guys shared his phone number with us. He gave us many compliments and it was just nice to have people reacting in a positive way because we do not always see what other people see as we are just living our lives without thinking about other people's perceptions of us. And I like that kind of carefree and relaxed company, where people are just being themselves, that will always attract other people... Find a way to just be who you are supposed to be with the least amount of anxiety.
You are successful when you have gained inner peace. Hustle for a peace of mind rather than a piece of luxury item that will bore you immediately after purchase!
